Another week has gone by and I have been very busy in the Soap Room
making soap everyday for restocking the Market boxes and my shelves.
I did manage to get in making an old favourite but in a different format so that one will be ready in a couple of weeks. I will give you a hint it is a tropical fruit in season right now. Also made a totally new product the other day and that one will also be ready in a couple of more weeks. I am gradually getting there
and have nearly finished making all the soaps on my list.
Today I have been making balms so now have Comfrey Balm back in stock and also Irritated Skin Balm. The Irritated skin Balm is great for rashes and in particular Nappy Rash it is also good for insect bites, mild sunburn and also
light burns like if you dabbed on the iron or the side of the stove.
Comfrey Balm is great for bruises and also muscle and arthritic pain.
I have also made lipbalm base and Vegan lipbalm base today so tomorrow I can set up and poor the tubes and pots. Only one more Balm to go and they are restocked. I am feeling very accomplished this week as my to do list is getting smaller. I have even found time to put in more ingredient orders so will be having a day out to go pick them up early next week.
The weather has turned very hot here this week so my gardening has been before sun up so as to get into the soap room before it gets way to hot in there. Gardening in this weather is weed control and watering oh yes and harvesting my beans, tomatoes and of course the rhubarb. I did have more lettuce in but the haet has sent them off to seed almost straight away and the new seedlings I planted in a foam box in the green house have all been eaten by some insect. It is not snails as we don't have them here seeing that it is so hot and dry. I am tipping the slaters or maybe I have some of those white curl grubs that I haven't seen. Looks like I will be buying my lettuce leaves from now on. I grew a mini capsicum as well as the normal bell shaped one and I have hundreds of little capsicums hanging off the bush so I decided to pickle them in vinegar and spices. this way I have capsicum all year round and i don't have to buy them. I mean what else is the garden for but to provide vegetables so I don't have to buy them.
Well that is enough rambling for now I am off to check the temperature on my balms so that I can put the lids on and seal them up.
Take care in the heat and don't forget the native birds and animals as well as your fur babies.
Bye for now and remember be kind to each other.
Blessings.
