Well it is a bit cooler here so far this morning and is supposed to rain so guess it will warm up and become humid later.
There is a lovely breeze blowing so am hoping my washing dries before any wet stuff happens.
Not much happening in the Soap Room this week although I have managed to make some new shapes in Goat's Milk as well as some teddy bears for babies. I have a few more new things to play around with so might try that while it is cooler out there. I don't mind the heat but definitely hate humidity as I hate being sticky.
I am loving the deodorant I made as it keeps me dry. It is not for everyone as I use Soda Bicarbonate and apparently a few people react to it but luckily for me I don't. I have played around with the recipe and made it a bit softer so that it is smoother to apply as the first batch was too hard and would not glide under my arms now it does. I also use bicarb for my toothpaste and lots of other things in the house. Don't know what I would do without it or vinegar.
Well school goes back next week and with this humidity be on the look out for head lice. I will be putting up a special sometime over the weekend that will help you control these nasties without using harsh chemicals. It is also a wonderful way to condition your child's hair as well. Keep your eye out for this one as it is a very good buy.
I almost forgot to ask this. One of the new products I am playing around with has been a laundry paste. I am only using my soap scraps at the moment but if anyone is interested in buying it I would make a Coconut oil soap to use for this as coconut soap is very cleansing and makes a wonderful washing machine soap paste apparently. It would come in recycled coffee jars you know the large Moccona ones as I have heaps of them to recycle and can probably get more from op shops.
I have used the paste a few times and it seems to be working well.
I have been making and using my own liquid laundry wash for a few years now but I do use a small amount of oxy wash as well in each load to keep the whites white as the wash I make has no whiteners so the whites over time do tend to go dull but then I found this paste and thought I would try it so if you are interested let me know and if I get enough interest and once I go get some more coconut oil I will make some up for sale.
