Well we survived the new Sunday Market and it was so lovely to be inside again. We were Lucky it was inside as it was freezing outside in the wind. I had my heavy jacket and scarf on all day. The next Market there is in 3 months so next time we will have a full sized stall as I felt I was overshadowed by the larger stalls each side and there was no where to hang my banner. Thank you to all those who braved the cold winds and came to check it out. So many new faces and quite a few of regular faces as well. Hope to see you there in November.
Grandma's tablecloth was a good source of conversation as a lot of people stopped to admire it. So Grandma your work goes on and I only hope the Irish Linen can stand upto being out on the tables again as I noticed it is getting quite worn in some places.
This week in the soap room is looking pretty busy as I am finish off 1 large order and another one not so large as well as restocking some of the more popular scents in soaps. You will see the selection shrinking over the next few months as I am ceasing the not so popular ones and when existing stock is gone that will be it for them. I have to do this or go to a double stall at the markets to be able to display everything so it can be seen. However if I went to a double stall then my prices would have to go up ( I am also doing a price review at the same time) so some prices may change,
I am always striving to bring you the customers a good quality product at a reasonable price but as you know the cost of groceries is going up all the time. I am taking a good hard look at my costs and trying to keep them down but guess it will be inevitable in the long run as they have been the same for the last three years. So crossed fingers that they can stay that way for another year.
Spring is in the air and I have already started working in the vegetable garden as well as doing all those spring cleaning that one tends to do still have windows to clean on the house and getting more veges planted in the garden. I am trying some of the vegetables that you cut the bottoms off and plant again so far have leeks and celery coming on well and I also plant butter lettuce that you pick the leaves from and they renew. Hopefully there will be enough room in my garden beds.
Going to morning tea with a friend this morning as have been rather neglectful lately what with travelling and catching up on orders and of course the house and yard so a day off is called for but I have unmolded a stack of guest soaps this morning and they are drying so that counts as a days work doesn't it?
Okay that is enough rambling so take care everyone and be kind to each other.
Blessings
