It has been a busy week here but I have only spent one day in the Soap Room making products. The rest of the time has been spent sitting at the computer reworking out the costings of each and every product to get the best prices for you the customers.
In case you haven't read my Notice I have to do this now as I have no Margin left to absorb ingredient cost rises without having to pass it on to you. It is just a fact of business and must be done periodically.
I will advise when I have finished this task and when the website and Facebook will be updated so if you want to order anything at the old prices to save money then please do this through either website or page but do it soon as I will probably finish my costings over this weekend.
We have been having some beautiful days weather wise and I have been spending a small amount of time as much as my shoulder and back will allow out in the garden. I am pleased to say that it is starting to look much better around my yard as I have hired someone to come in and do regular mowing and other jobs that I cannot do. That leaves me the tidying up and growing of things. This week the native trees all had attention lavished on them as I loosened the ground around their base and added some water aiding stuff as well as some slow release fertiliser to give them a boost. My bottle brushes just need something as they are not flowering and not growing properly. Next week I want to start on planting up my vegetable garden if the weather is good. I have to go pick the rhubarb today and I picked 2 Asparagus spears this week...nom nom they were delicious and so will the rhubarb pie be when I cook it.
Do you like Hot Stuff! There is a Chilli Festival being put on by Seaton Fire Chilli's at Murphy's Creek on 16th of October. Not all stalls will be Chilli as I will be inside the hall with a table of as much stock as I can fit on there so if you are travelling through or live in the area or just want a great day out come along and have some fun. It is great for all the family starts at 10am and goes until 5pm. Hope to see you there. Check out their website/Facebook Murphy's Creek Chilli Festival you won't be disappointed.
I made some Ylang Ylang Soap this week and the more I use this essential oil the more I like the scent. I think it is a very soft very feminine scent and it also an air of mystique as it seems to float through the air and stay around. Have you tried it before? Soap won't be ready for a few weeks but I just go the door of the Soap Room and love to smell it. Keep your eyes out as will be adding it once it has cured and is ready for labelling.
I also made a Peppermint Aloe Vera soap and this is another one that I love not only the scent of it but the smooth texture that the Aloe gives to it. MY skin feels so silky soft after using this one also. I almost lost this batch as I ran into a problem with my stick blender breaking so this batch is a little rough looking as I ended up plonking it in the crockpot so that I could cook it and stir with my big spoon. I now have a brand new stick blender and the soap is cut and sitting on the curing rack.....win to me.
That is all for today so stay well and be kind to each other.
Blessings
