Happy New Year to Everyone and I hope you all had a lovely Christmas with family and friends.
We had a very quiet one as usual, Spent the day with a friend who is on her own and had one grandson drop in with his fiancée for morning tea. I did get phone calls from others as we live so far apart but one day we might all have a real family Christmas.
Here it is the end of the year and I am left wondering where the time has gone to so fast.
I had plans to do so much this year but time has just flown and I have forgotten what I wanted to do anyway. I now write things down or they don't get done as my memory works well as a sieve. This year I am hoping to be a lot more organised and have lists every where so I don't for get to do things.
I finished Markets and Fairs for the year in mid December then since then have been cleaning up the soap room and catching up with some wholesale orders so even though I am on a break most days are still spent in the soap room doing something. I collected some more sheep milk just before Christmas so that I can continue with the wholesale orders but have stopped making those bars for the moment as have another large wholesale order to fill. I love doing this one as each shape is a native animal or lizard or frog. They look lovely when I have them altogether in a box. So bright and colourful.
I am without help in the garden again as my friends granddaughter who was helping me has found herself a job. While I am very pleased for her as she has 2 little boys to support I miss having her come for the 2 hours work a week she did. She was a great help in getting the rest of my garden planted although one can never have enough plants at least the beds were all cleaned and planted with only gaps to fill in. It is the weeds that drive me crazy as I can't spend hours gardening anymore due to back and neck problems so the weeds are gaining on me especially after the 100 mls of rain we had when that cyclone Owen was playing zoomies. Hopefully I can find someone else to help out soon. Meanwhile I am loving the extra flowers that are happening from the plantings and so are the bees. Hope to get my own native bee hive soon as well. The tanks are all full at the moment thanks to the rain we had so am watering with that instead of using the town water. Tank is so much better than town water for the plants I think as they seem to get a growth spurt much quicker.
Mac and Megz are doing well. They loved turkey for Christmas lunch and would like it all the time but are having to make do with steamed chicken instead. Mac had an upset tummy a few weeks ago and vet put him on steamed chicken and rice so of course Megz went onto the same diet as well seeing they swap and change dinner plates all the time. Santa Paws bought them some new Bibs as they end up with food in the manes under their chins and it is icky to clean out. Megz has settled down and is now boss of the household as Mac is so polite and lets her take charge. He is to much of a clown. Megz coat has thickened up and is growing back really well. Her top hair is about half way now so another 6 months should see her in full coat. Mac already has his full coat and it is a double one so they both get brushed every night to keep the matts and knots out. Megz hates it ig there is a not and soon lets me know that I am pulling her hair. I have to brush Megz on a table as that is what she has been trained to and I find I can do everything but look in her mouth while she is on that table where as Mac lays on my lap and relaxes so much he sleeps until he reckons I am finished then he gets up and takes off huffing and puffing at me.
Well that is all for now I do hope everyone has a great 2019 and I wish you all health and happiness in abundance.
Stay safe and remember be kind to each other.
Blessings
