Yes I know it has been quite a while since I rambled hasn't it. I am sorry but Life just seems to get in the way of all our good intentions and things just slide. I am back on track now and things are getting better organised this time so I am hoping to do regular rambles from here on in.
Been busy in the soap room restocking after some big Festivals and trying to keep up with things outside of the Soap room plus all the paperwork that one seems to have to do these days I just found I had no inclination after dinner except to sit and veg out for awhile in front of the idiot box and if there wasn't anything worth watching I went to bed early and read for a few hours.
Luckily Little Mac is forgiving and goes to bed so quietly as he has had some long nights of sleep without complaint. He has been such a good boy that I have found him a companion can't say she is a playmate as poor little Megs doesn't know what the word means. Megs is a beautiful little Papillon senior doggy who has not been handled much at all during her life. She is very timid and will suffer being patted but is getting better and I can pick her up so we are getting somewhere. She is very thin compared to Mac as he is rotund and is on a diet but Megs has started eating twice a day until today and I think I am being punished as I left her at home with Ivan and Mac while I worked in the shop then run some messages. She seems to be sulking so will go hungry until tomorrow I guess.
Have been busy making soaps for a client over the last few weeks and still have more to go. Learning new ways of doing things and stream lining the process so that things run more smoothly and the soaps are a better looking soap. My old method meant that some soaps had a darker coloured ring on them from going through the process called partial gel which means that the centre gets hotter than the outside and thus is a darker shade. It annoys me but I think I have it conquered now so am feeling pretty pleased with myself.
Also have made some solid Bubble Bath pieces a totally new product and am pleased with how they turnout. They sort of look like a plasticine oval shape and are not very large as I wanted to keep them small so they would be fresh and maintain the fragrance better. They are available in the Darling Downs Handmade Shop in the Wilsonton Shopping Centre at Toowoomba if any is interested in them. I have had a couple of bubble baths with them and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of Bubbles that it created.
Christmas is just around the corner so don't forget if you want a gift bag or basket or a small gift for a teacher than there is nothing more lovely than handmade soaps or body products.
Have you been getting some of this lovely rain that is around. We have and my garden is loving it. My garden is the best it has ever been thanks to the hard work of my previous handymen as they shovelled trailers of horse poo and trimmed lots of the trees as well as all the mowing before they left and went back to working full time. It has made it much easier for me to keep on top of now and my garden is in good shape. I do have someone else doing the mowing and grass care as Ivan has arthritis and gets around with a walking stick now so is no help at all outside besides he leaves the garden for me as it is one of my passions. We have been eating lettuce and tomatoes as well as Asparagus and sweet potatoes for a few weeks now which is much earlier than previous years so horse poo and water is doing the job.
Well that is enough of my rambling for now.
So stay well and be kind to each other.
Blessings
