I hope you are all well and still coping with all the Covid restrictions. I live in QLD so don't have many restrictions but I still like to wear a mask when I go shopping but this week I completely forgot to put it on as there are so many things going on in my head. I didn't realise it until I saw another lady ahead of me in the cue at the Supermarket so will have to be more vigilant and stop trying to solve everything while I am in a queue somewhere.
I have been quite busy in the Soap Shed the last couple of weeks
as I was at a 3 day Fair at the start of School Holidays, that is also the start of the Carnival of Flowers week in Toowoomba. We had such a lovely venue this time and it was much closer to the middle of the City so made it easier for people to come on over. There was no Parade of the Floral Floats this year due to the crowd size allowed so after people looked at the gardens they came shopping. The venue was lovely and Bright as it had floor to ceiling glass, It used to be a car dealers display rooms and Offices but they moved across the road and we were lucky to get a great deal on it for our 3 day fair.
This is the first Fair of the year that I have done well at as the last one in July I could only have my products there due to Covid limits and Rules and I did not do well at all.
I have restocked all Soaps and Cremes/Lotion that were getting low as I go into Day Surgery next week for my other Cataract removal so will be out of action for a few weeks and probably not in a good place to be concentrating on making products where everything has to be measured so exact.
Have been busy in the garden as well. Mainly watering to keep things alive. Thank heavens I have tanks around the place and they still have some water in most of them as we will be on restrictions very soon with our house water so I don't use it for watering. Praying for rain to come soon as it is supposed to be the end of our dry winter season.
I also planted seeds for flowers so my native bees have some flowers. Have Nasturtiums, Marigolds ready to transfer out and the Lupins are just starting to come up. I have also planted Beans along the fence in pots as my garden beds will be full of Dahlias if I can get them planted out this week, They are in boxes in the shed and are shooting already so will need to be planted soon.
We had a black fros about a month ago. No ice just burnt the potato and some of my zucchini's leaves black. The only night I forgot to cover them with shade cloth damn it. Left the potatoes in the ground until today then dug them up. Lots of them but some are not much bigger then marbles. Oh well they will be good cold for salads. Hacked the tryffid tomato back to a manageable size and it is just starting to flower again. We are eating the cabbages I grew and the silver beet so gardening is worthwhile besides I love it.
Mac is still going to Playgroup and loving it. I have to be careful when I get him out of the car as he takes off to get inside to be with his little doggy friends. He is on a low fat diet now as when he was ill the test showed too much fat in his blood and kidney/liver.
Just as well he likes the food as it is way to expensive to not have him eat it. He doesn't get any human food at all now as I have had to replace that and his doggy treats to low fat ones also.
He is still having some sort of episode that cannot really be explained. We thought they were Fits but not Epileptic however that has been ruled out and we now think it is either his pancreas or maybe his spleen as the turns seem to be a spasm of his stomach and lots of pain. If I can't get him out of it after a couple of minutes I have pain meds that he gets to help him relax.
If they keep up then he has to go to the Uni for an ultrasound of his belly to see if that shows up anything. That will be a last resort as will cost over $1k just for a couple of minutes use.
Well that is enough Rambling from me so Take Care and be kind to each other.
Blessings
